I read all the horror stories over on Amazon.com and was a bit worried about putting this carrier together, but it took only 20 minutes. As everyone here says… be quite sure you have the parts in the right spot because you can’t “un-click” anything once it’s together.
Just a few points I worked out…
I put it together on my kitchen counter with a folded towel under it. I used a rubber mallet to very gently tap the pieces together…with a folded tea towel between the parts and the mallet. VERY GENTLY!
The top and bottom panels face in the same direction. The little lip on the edge faces down (as it shows in the instructions) and the square channel effect where water could collect are therefore on the floor of the cage where the bird would stand and the top of the roof. The bottom panel feels like it’s just swinging in the breeze as you place it, so I was a bit uneasy at first, but once it’s all together it fits just fine.
To place the final piece on, I found you’ll need to line it up several times and gently fit the the other pieces into it until it all sits well… then you can tap lightly with the mallet (on the tea towel) at each end and finally along all the edges.
I threw away the perch. It will hurt your bird’s feet and apparently they slip off it. And you’ll need to find a way to fasten the door shut because it takes nothing to open it by mistake. Other people mention to throw away the handle/perch as well if you can find a wood dowel to work.
Finally – I put the whole thing in the shower and used Dawn dish washing soap on a sponge to wipe it out and give it a good rinse. It does carry a slight acrylic smell to it and we have to be careful with fumes and birds!
It’s really sturdy… I think you’ll be happy with it!

Ein sehr schöner und stabiler Transportkäfig habe ihn in den großen Käfig gestellt, damit sich der Papagei dran gewöhnt

Fantastic!
This is a great travel cage for my cockatiel. Also brilliant as a hospital cage if you had a sick bird you could attach the bird heater to one metal side
Putting it together is a little tricky. I watched a video on YouTube first.
I threw out the plastic perch it comes with … cut down to size a natural wood perch and attached it on the permanently closed metal end and also bought 2 small coop cups to attach on the metal bars either side of the perch on the non opening door
Showed my avian vet .. he thinks is its fantastic as the bird has full view
My cockatiel was very happy in it travelling 1.5 hours each way for a vet check up
Would def recommend but warning .. be careful how you put it together as it snaps together permanently.. watch some videos first

It looks good and the acrylic is strong but I am giving 3 stars because it’s very hard to assemble. The perch is plastic I think they should have made it from natural wood or calcium to be more beneficial for the parrot. Also the door doesn’t stay closed, the clipping of the lock is not made perfectly.

I bought this travel cage for my neurotic African grey so he could spend time with me in different rooms of the house. He had started doing a loud squeak in the last 6 months, which I think he learned from being on the screened in deck, and was making my senior shitzu a nervous wreck, and infuriating hubby. Considering he doesn’t like to cuddle, or stay put on a free standing perch his options were limited as for time with me. I had tried letting him eat dinner with us and would put him on aforementioned perch, but I would find food flung clear across the room. Seriously thought I’d have to re home him or hubby. It was causing stress and arguments. So I looked at all of the travel perches I could find and read the reviews. This one had some mixed reviews, but I liked the fact that it was light weight, easy to carry from room to room and up and downstairs, had the sturdy plastic sides to prevent food flingage, and ends that were metal bars. I was concerned about some reviews stating the cage was hard to put together, the plastic perch was too slippery, and the lock on the door would easily open. However, I figured it was worth a shot, and if I didn’t like it then I’d return it. My experience- I Kaye’s out all of the pieces and studied the boxs diagrams, started putting it together and then hubby joined in. Took us ten minutes. No problems. Yes I will be getting a better perch. I will be using a stronger carrier for trips to the vet because this will probably shatter in an accident, and while I am not worried about him getting to the bar that acts as a lock on the door I am concerned that a slight bump against it the wrong way will open the door. I will be using a hitch pin to secure it. My boy spent 4 hours in it this afternoon/evening and it took him about 15 minutes to relax (new surroundings) and then he was checking it. We ate our dinner with him on the table with us and all of the mess was kept inside the cage. He enjoyed the experience and so did we. He watched tv with us. I’m thrilled! He talked and no squeaks!! I’m looking forward to tomorrow and having my buddy by my side, wherever that might be! Also need to find 2 smaller crocks for the door-water and food.

really good travel cage for both our greys, only thing not so good was no food bowls and perch was just thin plastic, but not problem to us just got wood perches and brought small feed and water bowls as addition

Awesome super strong polycarbonate plastic. Perfect size for my large Umbrella Cockatoo! I like that it is wire grilled on opposite sides for great ventilation. The bars are thick and strong, my big bird has not bent any of them. The vent holes in the plastic side also have not been damaged in any way. Comes with a nice thick perch. Had to add my own coop cup for water. The panels snap together permanently. The directions were vague. Be certain before you snap together. Trying to pry it apart for a do over can snap off the interlocking tabs! The front door and rear bar panel were the parts in question during assembly. Once snapped together it is very nice quality construction. Well worth safely traveling with your bird in this unit. Wish they would make this same unit bigger for my giant Mullocan Cockatoo. Highly recommend this bird carrier! I now own 2 of them.

My Bird and I love this carrier. I have a Yellow Nape Amazon “Stroker” and bought this for his semi annual visit to his veteranarian for his check-up and his favorite “outside wings”. I recieved the package as always delivered in two days with ‘Amazon Prime” and the assembly was very easy, however a little tricky where some finese is in order. The tabs all fit together and click in place with some pressure “finese” and it only takes a couple minutes. The carrier is sturdy and just the right size. I wouldn’t try any bigger of a bird with this carrier but it is perfect for the “Amazon” and smaller sizes. Perch is plastic with ridges so he has a good footing to hold on to while on the go. The bonus of this is you can take your bird anywhere and he has a place to feel comfortable of his own. The top carry handle makes a great place to perch and see all that is happening. It’s not a place to store your bird while on vacation or for long periods but for short term and travel it’s a great way to take your bird anywhere. I definetly recommend this item to all bird lover’s.

A little tricky to put togeather. Very light and easy to carry. Have been on a few short trips with my budgie and he seems to like it. Would like to have gotten a size smaller but on the other hand, it is large enough for him to be in it for a day.
