Works good for chickens that cant walk

This sling is too big for most of my breeds, and I have black Australorps, which are a good sized dual-purpose breed. I ordered the medium size since they didn’t advertise a small size. That means if the hen poops, it stays inside the sling. I picked this sling specifically to rehab a hen with a bum leg and bumblefoot.
It was well made, and expensive, but too big…

I have a 13 year old hen, Lucy, who is no longer able to walk. I take her for rides outside a few times a day for enrichment. This harness allows me to ride hands free if needed, and for Lucy to feel extra secure.
The harness pattern is very functional and well-thought out compared to other cheap designs (a cheap bag with holes in it). The back of the harness is open for obvious reasons. This is also very functional for Lucy, as she also has excess fluid in her abdomen due to congestive heart failure. The open back design allows her to sit comfortably in the harness.
The pattern is great and the quality is outstanding. The medium fits Lucy, a buff Orpington, very well (size chart is in the A+ content, beneath the listing images and description). The fabric is thick and durable. Highly recommend spending a little more on this harness- it’s so much better quality and will last!

Size I bought medium see image hen soaking foot for bumblefoot treatment. The hen was at ease and relaxed, I was able to soak, clean and wrap the chicken leg easily. I found the sling makes it so easy and is much safer for the hen.
SEE IMAGE OF MY HEN SOAKING FOR WHILE RELAXING before I put ointment on the wound and wrapping it with a bandage for her bumblefoot condition.
I think this sling could be used to treat wounds or groom pets like cats and small dogs but you need to check that out for yourself. It is made well and should last for years or possibly be the only one I need to buy.

Thank you so much for making this product!! I have a duck who unfortunately happens to be a meat bird 😞 He grew abnormally fast and large and became disabled, unable to walk or swim well. He started deteriorating and wasn’t eating or drinking. It took me a bit to figure out his needs but eventually I realized he needed to dangle to take the weight off his legs. I was cutting up those fabric Walmart shopping bags, which worked great. He started eating and drinking again and began to thrive. I wanted to get him something more durable and better quality so when I happened across this chicken carrier I knew it would be perfect. And I was correct!!! I got the large size, as he’s a big ol’ Pekin duck and he fits into perfectly and securely. I’m so so happy a product like this exists and am so grateful for its excellent quality. And it even looks super cool too. No more being embarrassed when his friends see him in a Walmart bag. He’s stylin’ now. Thank you for making this carrier for my sweet disabled duckie ❤️

This is the best thing I have ever bought from Amazon. I have 2 hens with bumble foot and wrapping them in a towel to vet them was not fun!!! This sling wrapped around my starlight egger and a Wyandotte with no problems. My husband and I are ecstatic at how it kept them wrapped and still while I was working on the paw.
