My bird hated this with a burning passion that I have never seen before. So glad I didn’t take him outside in this harness like the listing suggests you can. I thought about it, but then figured I should test inside first, and thank god I did. He got out of the harness over and over. The elasticity of the shoulder straps was the downfall. He was able to dig his claws into the cloth to stretch the elastic bands and pull his feet up and through the neck hole to get out. He was able to fight his way out of it around eight times before he gave up and stayed in it pitifully for around 30 minutes, but it genuinely looked so uncomfortable on him, I felt horrible and took it off. I got him a size large, but it barely fit, and he is NOT a large bird. I’d consider a parrot to be a large bird personally. My bird was also able to chew through the elastic bands on this pretty well. The paper towel method also did not work for him (another suggestion from the listing). The poop just squished right up into his feathers, which is honestly grosser than it landing on a towel. He’s obsessed with cleaning himself too, so I felt even worse; he could tell it was all over him and was not thrilled. He was making angry noises at me until I took it off of him. I’d give this 2 stars for cuteness and the creativity, but yeah, maybe it just wasn’t for my bird. He’s just too good at fighting to get out of things he doesn’t enjoy. Ever watch a dog walk after you put shoes on them for the first time? That’s how my bird was walking in this after he finally gave up trying to get out.

My bird has tried several styles of these diapers now. He did not like this one very much. I have a large cockatiel, and he wouldn’t keep this one on. I also found the harness clip (metal part) just heavy enough to notice and be an irritant, and felt I couldn’t fully trust the flight “leash”. I do like the colors and cute patterns to them. The quality is better than other types I have tried on amazon. The size/fit, I would say is perfect for a cockatiel (or similarly sized bird). This would also be a good buy as a pattern if you are handy and can make one better. I found this one to be a really good price point in my opinion.
