The screw knob is not reinforced enough for the size of the board, making it sloping down a bit when screwed in. Otherwise, my bird loves it and stay on it a lot.
C. Story –
My anxiety ridden bird (Sophie-Green Cheek Conure) hates new things. Honestly, same. But, in an effort to build her character, I periodically introduce new toys I know she’ll appreciate even if it puts her out of her comfort zone. This cardboard bird platform exceeded my expectations in both quality and anxiety inducing fear from Sophie. The platform itself is well made, the screws that attach the platform to the cage are really quite robust and help the platform attach very securely. The cardboard structure is heavy duty enough to support her weight but also spreadable should she feel so inclined. After a warm-up period which entailed attaching the perch to the outside of her cage for a weeks time, I moved the platform in her cage and attached it near a desirable toy she is familiar with. Initially, stranger danger took hold and she avoided it like the monstrous cage infiltrator that it is, but after another week of weary side-eyes she started hopping on to it and exploring it. She now happily jumps onto her platform and has tentatively started teasing at its edges, attempting to shred it.
The only thing I would suggest that would make this toy better, is if there was a way to keep the screws and replace the platform once the platform becomes no longer usable.

My cockatiel likes standing on this platform and the size is good. However, after about one month my bird chewed it and damaged it. It is also not easy to clean. For the price, it is not very good value.

My birds LOVE this! I had purchased this sort of platform before (different seller), and it didn’t last a month before it was chewed into such a small chunk (even after I flipped it over) that I had to remove it for safety reasons. It was not stable enough to remain attached to the cage, and what was left really was looking a bit nasty despite regularly trying to brush or wipe the poop off. I have two small budgerigars (parakeets), and they made that angry chakking noise when I took it from them. They loved it so much, and I hesitated getting another because of the price, but I ordered this one because the joy was worth the price. I knew what I was ordering, so my main warning is to check dimensions rather than relying on illustrations. The photo of the blue budgie on a platform depicts a smaller size that isn’t even being sold in this listing. The one I ordered is much bigger so that there is plenty of room for both my birds, and so it will last longer. Depending on the size of your cage or your bird (the size I have would be fine for a single cockatiel), you may want to order a bigger size or look for a smaller platform on another listing. The fasteners are wonderful as far as it covers most of the protruding screws common to attachable bird toys and perches, but if you have arthritis, the round discs can be difficult to grasp and turn tightly. It never hurts to have an extra pair if hands to hold everything in place until you can get it attached. Highly recommend especially for small to medium birds.
