My chickens have been healthy thankfully so I never needed to give them vitamin supplements before. I picked this up in case they’ll need it in the future, and I’m planning to dissolve them in the water bucket for them to consume. It seems like a decent value but I would know what it tastes like for the chickens. Hopefully it’ll taste good. It should also be easy to give since it’ll just melt in water, or maybe I can sprinkle them in their regular feed. Size can be shown based on my photos that I included. Happy chickens, happy eggs.

This Chicken Probiotic and Vitamin Supplement for Immune Support and Egg Production has on its packaging that it contains both lead and arsenic. I checked its listing page on Amazon and not one of the 6-7 photos of the label showed this portion of the label. However, once received, the label clearly lists it. Why would these be part of the ingredients of a food product? Although banned in the U.S., evidently arsenic helps promote growth. While doing research online for these elements, everything I read showed both lead and arsenic can be in the eggs, can bioaccumulate, can be worse for children then adults. Not sure how this could be an acceptable additive to a healthy poultry vitamin supplement. I did not feed any to my flock and cannot give opinions as to ease of use, effectiveness, energy level, etc. I cannot recommend this product. Thank you other Amazon Vine Voices for pointing this out. I might have missed that on the label.

It’s pretty easy with included 2 g of scoop. 2 g scoop per 1 gallon of water. I like to do the water so I’ll know that it’s mixed.

I picked this up to keep on hand for my flock because between heat, molting, stress, and just normal day-to-day chicken drama, they can get off their feed and you’ll see it in their energy and eggs pretty quick. I’ve been using it as a water additive and it’s been easy to mix and use.
What I like is it covers a few bases at once. The probiotics seem to help when their digestion is a little off, and the vitamins/electrolytes are nice during hot spells or when they’ve been stressed. I also like having the calcium and D3 support in the mix, especially for laying hens, because thin shells are usually the first sign something’s off.
I’m not going to claim it’s some miracle powder, but it’s a good “maintenance” supplement to keep in rotation. When I’m consistent with it, the birds seem a little perkier and I don’t see as much weirdness with droppings or sluggish behavior.
Overall, if you want a simple probiotic + vitamin + electrolyte supplement for chickens and ducks that you can add to their water, this has been a solid one to keep in the coop cabinet.

I was actually hesitant to try this once it arrived. The pink label looks like it was printed on paper at a home business. The directions are not helpful at all unless you want to do a bunch of math. I’ve included pics of the directions on the review. It gives no breakdown beyond what the entire contents of the container would need to be diluted with, by either water or food. I had an injured rooster and was put of my usual electrolyte and vitamin supplement I normally use. I assumed this would be similar.
I did try just a tiny amt in his water for about 3 days. I’m not sure if it was enough to be helpful. Hard to say when you have no idea how much to use. He did improve on his stool consistency but I can’t say if that was just overall improvement of his condition. He also got too cold during the ice and snow. So he was overall doing bad to start with. But it didn’t kill him and he drank it willingly. I can’t really tell you about how effective it is, how well it digests, probiotics, or price value because idk if I used the right amt or not. I won’t be using it again. It just seems like sketchy packaging and instructions.

My Chickens do enjoy this supplement. It must not taste bad because they drink it up like muddy water.
The mixing/dosing instructions are bad and confusing; they want me to mix 150g into 826.7 pounds of water. That’s a lot of water to use in the recommended 24 hours for my backyard chickens. The picture in the ad says 2g per gallon of water. That would be 150g in 75Gal of water, which is about 626 pounds. So which one is it? I went with the 2g per gallon. Upon close inspection of the label, this supplement also contains arsenic and lead in micro amounts. Sure, it’s small amounts, but why is it in there in the first place? I don’t want arsenic and lead in my pet chickens, the eggs I eat, or my lawn! I feel bad for missing these details and dosing my flock with this stuff.

This Chicken Probiotic & Vitamin Supplement sounds great, but once you read the ingredients, I noticed it has arsenic and lead in it. I understand that these are not large doses and can help with their health, and has vitamins and minerals like Calcium and Vitamin D3 and electrolytes that is very good for them,
but at the same time, it’s not good either.
While the arsenic and lead in this product are not the same or the same lethal dose as rat poison, they can still lead to chronic toxicity in chickens and pose risks.
I’m sorry, but I have to give this one a 1-star rating because I don’t believe it’s healthy for the chickens or for people who eat their eggs. I wish I noticed the ingredients sooner.
Lead is a toxic heavy metal.
And
The use of arsenic in poultry feed has been a significant concern, as organic arsenic compounds in feed can transform into inorganic arsenic (a known carcinogen) within the chicken’s body.
I’m sorry I almost never give a one star but this just dont sound safe for them.
