Great feeder, saves so much mess compared to the open feeder I previously had, easy to install. My only issue is that my budgie who’s always looking for mischief, took great delight in knocking the lid off….. so I taped in down 😂

3 stars because the empty shells container is rather small compared to the food container, my two parakeets will fill the container in a day. So, if you plan on using this a long-term feeder, you will have a mess in your hands. Also shift true the shells receptacle, I found that about 1/3 of what fall in the small receptacle is uneaten seeds.
It would be nice if the empty shell container be larger.

I have a lutino parakeet that is fiesty and loves to bathe in her food dish and throw her food everywhere! I bought this in hopes it would stop her from going into her food dish and making such a huge mess. While she did try to get into the dish at first, she quickly realized it wasn’t fun and since then she hasn’t tried at all. The drop dish at the bottom perfectly collects all the seed husks and I love that I can fill the trough and not have to add more for at least a week! While I won’t say it is 100% mess free as some seed still gets out and my bird still throws some with her beak, it is a TON better. It did take her a day to get used to the feeder and being so “visible” through the glass was a little unsettling for her but I just gave her space and she quickly learned to use it and that she wasn’t being threatened during eating time.

I have 4 birds so this is just so much easier to feed them works great , sometimes the food comes out the bottom, but I just taped it so it’s closed off and works great , one little flaw but would buy again for sure for the convenience

HOW I wish I had ordered this years ago! ESP for my 4 yr old Budgie, who got used to it fast & cracks me up to see him in there eating! Neat, NO mess, this feeder Works! I don’t miss the hook-on seed cups at all!
Fill this from the top, the chaff drops into the tray below, constant fresh seeds, no shells to sift thru…
Toss the bottom catch-drawer contents out the window, put it back in! Good to Go!
My initial hesitation was that it wouldn’t fit the opening, but I MADE it fit, bolt on top, bungee cord works!

I must say I like it. Kind of small for multiple birds. Qualify not to bad. My birds are messy so this helps it not to be as messy as before.
I understand it can’t be bigger because it has to be in size to fit the door. But over all I think k I’m pleased. Might purchase 2 more.
