I picked up this Kenond feeder and waterer set for my parakeets recently, and overall, I’m finding it does a satisfactory job. One of my main hopes was to prevent my birds from accidentally contaminating their food and water with droppings, and this set does a good job with that – the food stays covered, and the water dispenser design is much more hygienic than an open dish. Of course, for the water dispenser, you still need to be mindful not to place it directly under a perch, but that’s just good practice anyway. It also helps keep seed hulls contained better too. Both the feeder and waterer work as described, automatically dispensing as needed.
My birds got the hang of using the feeder pretty quickly – I included a short video showing one of them eating from it. It’s nice knowing there’s a decent supply of clean food and water available, especially if I’m busy for a bit.
The only real downside I’ve noticed so far is the bottom compartment of the seed feeder where the hulls collect. It slides out for cleaning, which is handy, but it slides out really easily. There’s no sort of catch or locking mechanism to keep it securely in place. I find myself being extra careful around it.
Aside from that minor design quirk with the collection tray, it’s a decent set that performs its main functions well, especially in keeping the food and water cleaner.

We ordered these for going out of town for a couple days, and installed them yesterday to trial before leaving. The food is moving down properly as they eat and the water seems to be working nicely too. The mess is SIGNIFICANTLY less. We have two love birds and this works great for them. I cannot believe the decrease in mess honestly. The quality of both the water and food containers feels okay for everyday use as well as for just when you’re away. We initially planned to just use them for brief out of town situations but after seeing the mess improvement, we may keep them in use full time. We have a very old and large cage. We had to get creative with the placement of the food container because it does not have the inside cage and outside cage placement options. It has to go outside with the door open. We had to create a way to block the open space it left in the doorway on our cage but again we have an older cage. It seems this is a non issue for other buyers. I would recommend these.

This is a great set of feeder and water bottle. The water bottle holds enough water and it is easy for the birds to get their beak into the shallow tray the water sits in. The feeder can be hard to put into place – may have to modify a opening in the cage for it to fit, but it has a tray that catches the chaff, which makes less mess when birds are feeding.

It’s a good product

These are both such good products, the seed dish is awesome, no more seed husks thrown around the floor and the water dish is so much cleaner, I have a cockatiel that loves to sit on and over dishes that the water bowl was always contaminated with his excrement.

It took a day for the bird to get used to the seed dipenser but now loves it. The larger capacity means less changing and the husks do go into the catcher. The water dispenser works well. Be good if you could fill the water up from the outside as my bird is extremely territorial.

Only the water dispenser was delivered (refund issued by Amazon after a waited a month for the second piece – the feeder – to arrive, so this review is only for the water dispenser. When placed on the outside of the cage, the weight of the water bottle tilts the water tray backwards sharply, making it look a bit loose and not really accessible for a parrot. I used a small zip tie, which mostly fixed the problem, but the weight is still back and the tray slanting a bit backwards although it is usable now. If the zip tie came with it, I’d rate it a 4. If the design had some hooks at the top to hold the weight vertically against the cage, it would be 5 stars and a great product as very convenient, mess free and a good size for a cockatiel.

These work great. We have 2 bird’s and this has cut down on mess and waste dramatically

Never in my long history of Amazon purchases have I bought a product (actually two in the same box) that failed so utterly. The water dispenser looks like a great idea but the tray is too tall to fit through the cage grill. It must be reversed and placed inside where the bottle quickly becomes encrusted with bird poop.
The idea that the feeder hangs on the outside with the resting bar inside looks great installed until you see it from the bird’s viewpoint and notice the cage bars are between the feed and the bird. Unless you want to do major surgery on the cage that is a bit of a problem.
I resorted to placing the feeder inside but the feed trough is too narrow for my cocateel to get to the seeds.

As a mom with a busy schedule managing full-time work and school, I got the Kenond No Mess Bird Feeder Water Dispenser Set for my parakeets to simplify feeding without the usual seed scatter, and it’s made their care easier after a few weeks of use.
Design and Features: This set includes a seed feeder and water dispenser with transparent reservoirs to monitor levels, designed for small birds like parakeets. The “no mess” mechanism uses perches and gravity-fed dispensing to minimize waste, with removable trays for cleaning. Made from durable plastic, it’s about 12 inches tall, fitting nicely in their cage without crowding space. The automatic refill reduces daily refills, which is a relief amid my routine.
Performance and Use: My parakeets took to it quickly, perching to access seeds and water without frustration—the dispensers release just enough to avoid overfeeding and mess on the cage floor. The water stays fresh longer thanks to the sealed design, and refilling is straightforward by twisting off the top. It’s helped keep their area cleaner, with fewer seed hulls to vacuum up daily.
Durability and Maintenance: The plastic holds up to nibbling, and disassembly for weekly cleaning is simple with warm soapy water—no special tools needed. However, I’ve noticed occasional minor leaks from the water dispenser if overfilled, leading to a small puddle in the tray that needs wiping. The seed feeder stays drier, but the perches could be sturdier for active birds.
Pros:
Reduces mess and waste for cleaner bird care.
Automatic dispensing saves time on refills.
Transparent design for easy level checks.
Suitable size for parakeet cages.
Cons:
Minor water leakage when overfilled.
Perches may wobble with vigorous use.
Final Thoughts: This Kenond set is a practical upgrade for parakeet owners like me seeking low-maintenance feeding. It keeps things tidy and my birds happy, though addressing the leak would make it perfect. I’d recommend it for small bird enthusiasts and might try the larger version next.
