I was pleasantly surprised that this sheet fit as well as it did, considering it’s an off brand.
The good: 81 inch sheet for a 17 hand horse. Fit is good, shoulder area is normally the problem with a fly sheet, but in this case, the front of the sheet actually comes up pretty high, so there is less pull on the shoulder point, which is almost always a problem. Or the chest part isn’t long enough. Neither are issues with this sheet, thankfully.
The bad: the shoulders are not lined, which is a huge drag, and will likely cause rubs. Not many fly sheets aren’t lined in the shoulders, unless they are really cheap brands, so designer would do well to change this, if they want to charge the current price. This can be a deal breaker for me.
The good: the belly band wasn’t too long for my gelding, since he is large. It has metal connectors on one side, and is detachable on the ‘off’ side via velcro. Sometimes this can cause an imbalance on a fly sheet, with metal on one side and velcro on the other. But this sheet actually seems very balanced in that regard. I also like that it has a detachable hood. The hood is lined along the mane, so that is nice.
The bad: the velcro attach straps are poorly sewn onto the neck hood. Since this is an area where a lot of pull occurs when the horse stretches down, we will see how this lasts. I’m not a big fan of neck attachments being velcro, for that reason. However, I will say that the neck is roomy enough and sized well enough that there may not be too much pull.
Good: velcro assist at the chest buckles. That is always helpful. Fit in chest and shoulder area surprisingly good.
Oddities: the hind leg straps are super, super long, and I had to twist them around each other several times to get them to the point where they wouldn’t be dangling too far down the leg. You could change them to shorter leg straps, or tie knots in them, but just be aware that they are super long, even when shortened all the way. And again, this is on a very large horse.
The other odd thing is that the neck hood has attachments for the ‘halter’, one on each side of the head, which is very strange. Normally, there would be one attachment at the top of the head for the halter or fly sheet. This doesn’t bother me, because I do not generally use these top attachments. But if you do, know that these are placed differently.
See the photos for both the good and bad. Again, I was pleasantly surprised at the fit of this sheet. I do think the price is too high for a sheet with a couple of these issues-especially no shoulder lining.
On another note, the color is quite lovely, and it is lightweight. I can’t speak to durability, because I haven’t used it that long as yet. However, compared to other fly sheets, this would be similar in material. The primary durability issue might be just where the sheet attachments are on the hood. Lastly, I am sure the effectiveness will be similar to any other fly sheet. The mesh is very similar to other brands. As far as temps, some horses sweat in them, and some don’t. I have found that it’s up to me to keep track, and it’s not always an issue of the sheet itself.
Again, if this sheet were less money, I would be more inclined to purchase. But I would also seriously be held back by no shoulder lining.

My horse is 14.1 and short backed, so I bought the 66-inch size. It fits great except one major problem: the belly section is too short, even after lengthening the straps as far as they will go. Since a major reason I bought this was to protect his undercarriage from biting midges, I’m not happy.

The belly strap doesn’t even come close to latching… she’s a chunky mare-but not that chunky. Shes a typical warm blood. Maybe this was made more for a TB frame.
