Nay sayers will make ridiculous claims like “Your beardie’s nails will get caught and he’ll lose a toe” or “it BREEDS bacteria and will make him SICK!”
First of all, you need to be trimming your beardie’s nails. If they are too long, yes, they will get stuck. But they shouldn’t be. Secondly, your beardie should be of ADULT (not juvenile or sub-adult) age while using these kinds of hammocks. Until they reach that age, they should use the green ones from, I believe, Zoo Med, because they can get their small feet and toes stuck.
Thirdly, the whole “it breeds bacteria” thing is a scare tactic; everything breeds bacteria! If you are NOT cleaning your beardie’s enclosure, you’re the problem, not the hammock. And the only reason that bad bacteria would cause your beardie to be sick is if you DON’T clean its tank. If his tank is bioactive, that’s one thing. The CUC will take care of poop and anything on the floor. But the CUC won’t be cleaning his hammock lol that’s your job as the owner.
Here’s what I do: Isopropyl alcohol is safe if used correctly. And no, you can’t just spray a cleaning agent onto something and expect it to clean it. There needs to be scrubbing involved, some sort of abrasion for cleaning to happen. If you mix about 20-30% isopropyl alcohol with clean water and scrub it with a tooth brush or a loofa (make sure to replace the loofa every couple of months), and let it COMPLETELY dry before putting it back into the tank, it’ll get clean. If you do this with vinegar and water, it’ll get clean. If you use hot water, even better. If you bake it or any just washed wood afterwards at 200 degrees F for a couple hours, even better.
This hammock is great and my beardie loves it. But it takes effort to own a beardie, and if you’re not ready for that money or commitment, forget about it. Don’t get the lizard and definitely don’t get an animal you haven’t researched.

This item is very sturdy and my snake does love it! However, I’m not gonna give it a five star because I believe there is potential here. The hammock came with a small set of twine and 3 suction cups. I was SO confused on how to put it together until I found a 3rd party yt video on it after digging for answers. Now if I were this product production company, I would fix this tiny issue by simply leaving instructions in the box clearly showing how to tie the hammock together correctly. Besides this, the product is phenomenal!!

The hammock is a great size for larger lizards like beardies. Our lizard loves climbing it or using it as a sunning spot. The quality is great, and you attach the suction cups yourself, so it can be modified to fit any container.
