I ordered the size small for my young silkies. They are practically the same size but I really wanted the diaper for our young Roo (black and white one in my pictures) in case we have to keep him inside to not disturb our neighbors. He did very well letting me put it on but it would not cover his vent no matter how I tried to adjust it. It would sit just below it. My first picture shows it on him. So then I thought I’d try it on my pullet silkie and it did fit her better but I still had to pull on it to sit where it should. On her it sat barely right over her vent unless she moved a lot. I could not get the diaper opening to puff out enough to cover the area or for her to go in it. Her waste would go either above the diaper. I next tried to put a piece of coffee filter in it to puff the opening out some. This was difficult and not something I want to have to do each day. I set her down in our indoor play pen and within 2 minutes she has it off. The Velcro is just not adequate. Maybe if I ordered a medium it would have worked better but I highly doubt the Velcro would hold no matter what. The material and bow are very cute and I really wish this would have worked for us.

We have Serama chickens who need to be handled frequently both for pet and show purposes so a proper fitting diaper comes in handy – if only I could find one where both size and proper construction were available in the same item. Unfortunately this was not it. The size was good, and I may be able to alter this to fit as it should, but if I have to remake them, why order at all? And if you’re here reading a review you probably don’t want to take up bird diaper alterations either. It may be possible that I received a defective product as the photos on the product page suggest the bow placement was higher up than it is on the one I received (photo 2). The space between the bow and tail opening is not sufficient even with elastic to allow a proper fit along the back of even the smallest chickens (Seramas). The elastic around the wings is far too loose causing it to slip down over the outer wing rather than stay up around the back of head/neck and under the wing. These two factors, not enough stretch at the back and too much from head to wing put the diaper in entirely the wrong position to be of any use whatsoever, as shown in the last photo. I really wanted to love these as I’d rather spend time with my birds than my sewing machine but for now the search continues. I’m hoping others may have had a better experience and can give a different perspective.

I really wanted this to work for our little duck. We carefully measured his back before ordering, but unfortunately the diaper is too big on him right now. It slips and does not sit as securely as we hoped. He is still growing though, so I am hoping he will fill it out better in time.
It is definitely a cute idea for anyone wanting to keep pet ducks or chickens indoors. The diaper itself is well sewn and looks nicely made. The stitching appears strong and the material feels durable enough to last through regular use. Once our duck grows into it, I believe it should hold up well until he needs a larger size.
One thing that confused me at first was the product photo. I initially thought it was a package of six, but the description shows it is a single diaper. The listing photos could probably make that clearer to avoid confusion.
As for the price, whether it is worth it is subjective. If it fits your bird properly, it could be useful. For us, it just was not the right size yet, so we will have to wait and see.

These chicken diapers are a really cute idea and look adorable on, but they just don’t work that great. The concept is nice, and the material seems decent, but they don’t stay in place as well as expected and can be a bit of a hassle to use. It’s fun in theory, but not very practical for regular use.
