I ordered three bags of this coconut fiber. For its intended purpose – as nesting material for birds like canaries, finches, and parakeets – it works fine. Birds can use it without issue.
However, the material contains quite a bit of dirt, large husk fragments, and debris, so it’s not suitable for decorative or clean indoor use. If you need it for crafts or presentation purposes, this may not meet your expectations.

this is my first time buying/making a bird nest. It comes with a lot of it, so you can make more than 1 small nest. it depends on how much you use per nest, i’d say you can probably make 3? it’s very easy to make once you start messing around with it to shape it into a nest shape. the material feels soft and holds up well. I hope the outdoor birds will use it to lay eggs 🙂

So far so good, my birds love, making nests out of this material versus other generic stuff you can buy.
It’s great value for the money, it makes pretty nests, it’s soft, easy to feed to them in smaller clumps, appears to be quality harvest, and the way they like it so much it must be comfortable.
All around the birds seem to enjoy it, and it makes the ease of assembly of a nest for them very convenient.

Very disappointed with this product. The coconut fiber was rough, dusty, and filled with debris that looked nothing like the clean, soft nesting material shown in the pictures. It even had an odd smell, which made me uncomfortable using it for my birds.
My finches wouldn’t go near it, and I don’t blame them. The fibers were too thick and clumpy—definitely not ideal for building a comfortable or safe nest. I ended up throwing most of it out and buying a different brand that was properly cleaned and bird-safe.
Would not recommend if you actually care about your birds’ health and comfort. Definitely not worth the money.

Every spring I clean out the birds nests and give them fresh material to redo their homes. This works. The birds accepted them and padded their nests with it. However, I will be getting a different brand and do it all again. The reason is that this did not feel natural. The texture was like it was shredded plastic or maybe coated with something. I try to take the best care I can of my feathered kids. I don’t want them on anything that isn’t natural. So, if that doesn’t bother you then this is a great product. There was an abundant amount in the package. 1 bag did 3 nests with some to spare.

This coconut fiber is perfect for bird nests. It’s natural, soft, and easy for birds to use when building their nests. My birds started using it quickly and made a cozy nest with it.
