This is smaller than I thought, but that’s okay. The reason it is three stars is that my parakeet destroyed it in one day. Seriously, wood chips everywhere. But three stars because she obviously loves it.

I have two boy bird busy-beak parakeets who just love these colorful wooden toys to pieces (literally). They never seem to tire of demolishing them, and I never tire of watching them do it. The price is right, the wood is just right for their little beaks, and what’s not to love?

My cockatiel Cheddar the Shredder has a fantastic time demolishing this toy in just a few days. So…there is a limitation in that it is a lot of money for a toy that does not last. On the other hand, the purpose is for him to enjoy it and he does! After the very soft wood blocks are all chewed up, I take some crinkle paper that I buy separately and tie it on. This extends the usefulness and Cheddar is happy chewing up the paper.

Our parakeet is rather dense (ignores chewing block) but he actually chews on the soft balsa wood on this one. He has a fast-growing beak. We think this toy will help him.
