it does what they say it does… I’m alive and kicken!

This is as simple as it can get for keeping my horse healthy and free from parasites. Just measure how much your horse needs according to its weight. One entire tube will work for one dose for a 1,200-pound horse. I use the entire tube on my horse as he is every bit of 1,200 pounds. Even though the box says it is apple flavored, you would be hard pressed to convince my “Hank” that it tastes at all like an apple. He always curls his lips to let me know he thinks it tastes bad. It is a chore to get him to accept the syringe fully without getting it all over me as he slings his head around to get it out of his mouth. But once he does take it, I make sure and give him a real apple for a treat. I have been giving him Ivermectin paste about once a month or so for many years, and he seems to be in pretty good shape for 8 years old. This paste seemed to be no exception, I gave it to him the first of February and again first of March. No issues seen. Seems to me this is a quality product. A great value for 3 tubes received.

This is a relatively good value for 3 syringes of Ivermectin gel paste. It is formulated at the standard 1.87% Ivermectin, comparable to many other brands. Each syringe contains 0.21 oz. The full syringe dosage would work for a horse up to 1250 pounds, but smaller doses can be administered by pushing the syringe to the marked weight level on the plunger. It supposedly has an apple-ish flavor that horses seem to tolerate.

Amazon Vine sent me the VITALVINE Ivermectin 1.87% Paste for Horses (apple flavor, 6.08g syringe, 3-pack) free for testing. I used it on my two horses (a 1,050 lb Quarter Horse and a 950 lb Paint) that are pastured on our Johns Island property. Over the past two weeks I’ve administered the paste as part of their regular deworming schedule. The product performed exactly as expected — easy to dose, well-accepted by both horses, and effective based on follow-up fecal egg count reduction (done by my vet). The apple flavor made administration straightforward, and the 3-pack provided enough for both horses plus a spare dose.
Set up and Fit
• Each syringe is pre-calibrated for horses up to 1,250 lbs — easy weight-based dosing (notch system on the plunger)
• Apple flavor — both horses accepted it readily with minimal resistance (mixed into a small amount of feed or given directly on the tongue)
• 6.08g syringe contains 1.87% ivermectin — standard equine dose for strongyles, ascarids, and bots
• 3-pack is convenient for a small barn or multi-horse household
• No refrigeration required — stable at room temperature in the tack room
Performance
• Administration: Smooth paste consistency — easy to squirt into the mouth or mix with feed; no spitting out or refusal
• Efficacy: Follow-up fecal egg count (FEC) test 14 days post-treatment showed >95% reduction in strongyle eggs — consistent with good ivermectin efficacy on our property
• Safety: No adverse reactions observed — no colic, diarrhea, or behavioral changes in either horse
• Palatability: Apple flavor worked well — both horses licked their lips and accepted the dose without drama (a big improvement over some unflavored pastes)
• Convenience: Pre-measured syringes made dosing quick and accurate — no guesswork or waste
• Charleston conditions: Stored in a hot/humid tack room — paste remained stable with no separation or drying out
Build Quality
• Syringes are sturdy plastic with clear markings and a smooth plunger — no leaking or sticking
• Paste is uniform and easy to dispense — consistent texture and concentration
• Packaging is simple and protective — foil seal keeps paste fresh until opened
• 3-pack is well-sealed and labeled with lot/expiration info Only tiny nit: the plunger can be a little stiff on the first use (normal for new syringes).
Pros
• Apple flavor improves acceptance — horses take it easily
• Accurate, pre-calibrated dosing for horses up to 1,250 lbs
• Effective dewormer with strong fecal egg count reduction
• Convenient 3-pack for small barns or multi-horse use
• Stable in hot/humid storage — no separation or degradation
Cons
• Standard ivermectin — resistance can develop in some parasite populations (rotate with other classes as recommended by your vet)
• Paste can be messy if horse moves during administration (use a quick, steady hand)
• Not for foals under 6 months or horses with known sensitivity (follow vet guidance)
My Take
The VITALVINE Ivermectin 1.87% Paste performed well as a routine dewormer for my two horses. The apple flavor made dosing easy and stress-free, the syringes were accurate and easy to use, and the follow-up fecal egg count confirmed good efficacy. For a small barn or occasional use, the 3-pack is convenient and cost-effective. If you need a reliable, palatable ivermectin paste for horses up to 1,250 lbs, this VITALVINE product is a solid choice. Always work with your veterinarian for a targeted deworming program based on fecal egg counts and local parasite pressure. Highly recommended for straightforward, effective equine parasite control.
Disclaimer
Product received free via Amazon Vine. Tested on two adult horses under veterinary guidance in real Charleston pasture conditions. Ivermectin should be used as part of a vet-recommended parasite control program. Do not use in foals under 6 months or horses with known hypersensitivity. Consult your veterinarian before use, especially if resistance is suspected in your area. Proper dosing and fecal testing are important for long-term effectiveness. Stay safe with your horses!

This ivermectin paste works exactly as described and is easy to administer to my horses. The dosing is simple, and my horses respond well with no issues—plus the apple flavor makes it much less stressful for them to take. Highly effective and reliable for routine parasite control!
