I love these for my bird as they so help with molting but .I do not appreciate them not being packed with bubble wrap at least as it seems their just thrown in a bag or box and by the time I get them their almost dust !! ..COME ON Amazon please wrap and pack better with fragile items !!!!

I have a pet pigeon, and, if I’m being honest, she is totally spoiled. Of all of the various seeds and treats that we have bought for her, this seed mix is *IT*, as far as she is concerned. Suet with peanut butter? No thanks. Fresh veggies or berries? Not interested. Legumes? Get that stuff out of here! This seed mix? Gimme that whole bag, hooman!!! She loves them so much she has learned not one, but two different ways to communicate that she wants her “num-nums”.
At first, she would look at me and (it’s hard to describe the action and the sound she makes without analogy) “smack her lips” twice, more or less mouthing “num-nums”. A completely related side tangent, I assure you: One of the youtube channels I watch is Apollo the African Grey Parrot, and one of the ‘tricks’ he has learned is to do “Big Bird”, where he stretches his wings real wide, and gets a treat afterward. Well, my pigeon, after watching a ton of those videos with me, tried it for herself, and as soon as I realized she was doing “Big Bird”, I started rewarding her for it, and now she walks up, does “Big Bird”, and then mouth num-nums. It’s super cute, and the fact she taught herself a trick to get even more num-nums says, to me, that she *REALLY* likes this seed mix.
Anecdotal story aside, this stuff has a pleasant scent, the pieces are small enough that birds of all sizes can eat them, and over the course of dozens of bags, I’ve been impressed by how very little crushed seed powder I end up with at the bottom of the bag.
As a molting supplement, I have noticed that my pigeon seems to have less issues with pin feathers and down feather patchiness, and it seems to provide a bit of extra sheen, particularly to her iridescent feathers, when she eats this during a molting cycle.
The *only* issues I have with this product are with the packaging itself, and while these issues aren’t enough to warrant a lower rating or anything, they are worth noting. One, the package is not super-easy to open initially. It’s completely sealed plastic over a zip-lock, which means you have to *carefully* slice it open with a knife or scissors while not cutting in to the zip-lock. Easy enough to do once you get the hang of it, but the first couple of bags I messed up the zip-lock.
The other issue is the zip-lock itself, which *always* seems misaligned, and requires some finagling to get resealed.
Like I said, neither of these issues are deal-breakers, by any means, and really end up just a minor inconvenience more than anything, especially compared to the benefits of the product itself, and how much my bird loves it.

This has helped my small parrot and parakeets get thru molting season. I’ve used it for years. I wouldn’t recommend for larger birds. My Sun Conure seems to benefit tho.
Amazon customer –
I purchased the 2 bag deal and I’m happy I did. Are bird seems to like it. It was a good price for 2 bags. A lot less expensive than the store. I probably will order from here again
