I received the starter size of this bird ointment for $10, and it comes with about one ounce of product. It was very easy to apply. I simply rubbed a small amount on my bird’s beak while he was trying to get a treat from my fingers, and he tolerated it well. After applying it, his beak looked noticeably shinier, which you can see in the photos.
My bird does like to wipe his beak on perches and other surfaces, so I am curious to see how long the effects last. Even so, it absorbed nicely and did not seem greasy or messy. A very small amount goes a long way, so I do not feel like much product is needed per application.
Overall, I would definitely recommend this ointment, especially to at least try the starter size. For only $10, it feels worth it. I have a Sun Conure, and this small container should last quite a while. Even for a larger bird, I think light applications would still make it last a long time.

I would check with an avian vet first since some of the essential oils like tea tree and mugwort are toxic to birds in diffusers and high concentrated amounts. Just because something is natural & isn’t toxic to humans doesn’t mean it’s not harmful or toxic to birds. This balm doesn’t say what the concentration amounts are of the essential oils in their product. That gives me pause.
The balm itself doesn’t have a very strong smell, but bird’s respiratory tracts are more sensitive than ours. Also since the concentration is unknown, if ingested, will it give GI irritation or worse?
My starling gets dry legs in the winter. It moisturized his legs and feet and wasn’t oily. I used this for two days and while he didn’t show any adverse symptoms, I don’t want to chance it by continuing to use this until he did. I will stick to the other things I used that are known to be safe for him.
Do your own research, don’t just rely on reviews or asking AI because it can make mistakes, ask a professional. Every bird species is different and some are more delicate than others, so use care when choosing to use a product that is not fully transparent about its ingredient concentration..

This is a really good balm. It only takes a tiny bit and it helps moisturize beaks and feet. There is no noticeable smell to this, and it’s a very natural milky-clear color. This is about the consistency of Vaseline so you only need to gently dab your finger or cotton pad into this. This is a small size, but as a little bit goes a long way, it will last a long time. This came with a few cotton pads and some stickers as well. Keeping your birds beaks and toes moisturized is good for their health and prevents dryness. I think the price is fair for this item.

Ropto Bird Beak & Claw Moisturizer Ointment is an excellent product. It’s completely scent-free, smooth to the touch, and non-greasy, absorbing almost instantly with no mess. It comes with convenient round cotton pads for easy application and a cute parrot sticker that my daughter loved. We especially appreciate how it helps keep our birds’ beaks moisturized and healthy during the dry winter months. The quality is outstanding, and it’s well worth the money!

I got this ropto Bird Beak Oil & Feet Ointment for my 43 year old blue front Amazon. He is ornery, but he let me massage his feet and beak with this ointment. It was easy to apply, I just had to rub a small amount into his beak and feet. He then allowed me to lightly buff his beak to increase the shine.
Due to the amount of time that he spends on his cage, his feet show signs of wear. This oil helped to soften his feet and gave a shine to his beak. However, the sheen didn’t last long. (I hope this changes with routine use.)
The ointment was lightweight, colorless, and had a faint scent. Neither me, my husband, or the bird were offended by the smell.
Because you don’t need to use a lot of ointment/oil, the size is a value for the price.

The Raptors bird ointment was ordered for my Green Face Concur.
It’s important to keep your bird beak and feet well moisturized to elevate any discomfort and harm in those areas.
The ointment natural ingredients of mink oil, tea tree oil and shea butter also are gentle for your birds.
Applies easy without any mess or strong smells and provides no discomfort to your birds.

I would not recommend this for conures (or other birds), as there are ingredients that are toxic to birds in the ointment. I never use anything on our bird without researching it first, so I ran the ingredients list through Grok, Copilot, and ChatGPT and they all agree on the following points:
• The ingredients are not safe for birds.
• Tea tree oil is highly toxic to birds. Avian experts strongly advise against using it on or near birds.
• Mugwort oil (and all essential oils) are toxic to birds and they should not breathe the vapor.
I will not use this product on my bird and will continue with mineral oil like our avian vet uses when he has his beak and claws done.
I would DEFINITELY recommend consulting your avian vet before using this on your bird. It always pays to be safe, and your bird will thank you.

The ropto bird ointment is quite well presented. It comes in a little tin with some cotton pads. It smells nice, and it has a light feeling, of course it is greasy but it absorbs quickly leaving a great shine on the beak.
My birds tolerated it well and didn’t seem to have any reaction to it. A great little product.
