A few birds took the dark fluff, not white so much. Think too light for camouflage in nest. They are smart.

I hung one in the front of the house and one on the back porch both near hummingbird feeders. Within a few days, birds of all sorts were going after the alpaca wool in both spheres for nesting material. I will definitely buy more of this for next year.

I don’t know how well the fibers work for the birds but my mother loves watching her hummingbirds and was so delighted with this as a present

Cute and very well made. I love that it comes with Alpaca wool. I actually didn’t order it early enough in the season, but I still did get at least one taker. Took it down for summer (it’s June 15th) and will put it back up come April/early spring. It’s too bad you can’t reorder Alpaca wool, though I do expect this should last several seasons.
For years, I read to put out dryer lint for nesting material, but then it occured to me that I (and many others) use dryer sheets or similar. Since I don’t want to take the chance of possibly harming nesting baby birds; I was excited to try this cuted basket with Alpaca wool.
Since they don’t sell refills, when this is finally used up I may try refilling it with another recent recommendation… cat fur. I know many sleeping cats (my own included) often find themselves with their tail fur being plucked out and carried off by birds. I figure if I brush my cat and store it in a baggie, when the time comes, I should have enough to refill the basket.

These look exactly like they do in the photos, and they look beautiful hanging up next to your bird feeders and little hanging swings on your porch. In December since the hummingbirds make their nests, I always like to have this out there so they can stay warm. Quality is as expected, have had no problems, and the material seems to be the perfect type for building their nests
