This isxa great mask. It has a good sized hole to pull the forelock through, and it covers the whole nose too! Perfect for my bald faced paint horse! The horse size fits my 15.3 hand horse perfectly and is roomy enough to cover his big jaws!

It works good. Very well made. I like the forelock hole. Definitely blocks sun and flies. Negative is its so thick i really hate to leave it on at night. I take it off in evening and put back on in morning. I just prefer to feel like the horse can see better at night. I also have a Weatherbeeter that i can leave on 24 hrs a day. Thinner mesh

Got this for my clydesdale. He’d never wore one so wasn’t sure what to expect. Between the flues and sunburns this has been a life saver…. and crazy thing is he loves it…. I hold it up and he comes running!!! I did not expect that.

My horse is very sensitive and fussy, and tends to rub his face on hard objects (fence posts, his leg, etc.) while wearing most fly masks, invariably rubbing an ulcer on the bridge of his nose under the nose band within a couple of weeks. No matter how expensive or high quality the fly mask (i.e., the other horses do fine with them) he would have problems. This summer was especially bad–he rubbed an ulcer under the nose band with his old fly mask and thus couldn’t continue to wear the mask until the ulcer healed, and as a result he was getting very irritated around his eyes by the flies (who ignored fly repellents). I bought this one, somewhat uncertain about how he would react to the long nose flap but desperate for something to keep the flies off. Once his nose ulcer had healed up enough, I put it on him, fearing a relapse. I was amazed at how well he accepted it. There is no irritation under the nose band, everything is healing up, and he has not destroyed it. It washes up clean in a bucket with some soap, and looks good as new. It stays on securely and fits very, very well. It is also very well made, with well finished seams and quality materials and nothing scratchy bothering the horse.

I have a medicine hat paint and she burns so easily on her face and this mask has saved her from having a burnt nose and area around her eye which likely is saving her from developing cancer as easily. She keeps it on most of the time once in a while she will manage to get it off but immediately seems to regret it and wants me to put it back on

Super Produkt. Habe die Maske mit und ohnr Ohren und auch ohne Nasenteil. Benötige sie bevorzugt zur Abwehr von UV Strahlen.

Bottom line:
A little long on my very average sized horse. Not bad at all tho.
After about three months the mesh has started to separate from the nose seam but she wears it 24/7 except when being ridden. Grazing about half of that time. So lots of wear.
For the price, it’s been great. No other visible wear other than the nose area.
Will buy again next summer.
A very great buy for the price. I bought this for my painted Bavarian WB. She’s got a pink nose and is turned out from about 3pm until the morning so sun burn on her nose is a concern. Last year she had a normal fly mask that didn’t extend to the nose and I was constantly fighting sweat and grazing to keep a cream on her pink nose. This year we have no sunburn and no icky creams! This mask solved our problems. I’ve had it about 3 months now and the mesh is starting to come apart at the nose seam. She is not hard on masks, halters, etc but like I said, it is a little long for her face and she grazes on pasture 7 days a week and the only time she’s not wearing it in the summer is when we ride. So, it’s getting a lot of wear. Over all, will probably buy again next summer!

Does the job, stops the nose getting sunburnt, nice thick mesh so it lasts for the whole summer.
Good quality definitely worth paying the extra money for

I have a cremello paint gelding who sunburns badly, so masks are an important part of his life in the summer. I’ve gone through so many masks with this boy. He has a talent for taking them off and losing them somewhere in his pasture. I think he enjoys taunting me while I walk the pasture trying to find his mask yet again. This mask has broken a record. This is the first mask he has ever worn that has stayed on longer than three days. He hasn’t managed to get it off on his own in the month and a half he’s been wearing it. And he doesn’t seem to be irritated about wearing it like he has with all the others. This is the only mask that he just stands and allows me to put on him. It also looks well made and I think it might last longer than one season. Something I’ve never experienced before. The velcro is still as strong as the day I put it on him and other than the days it rained and he smeared his mask in the mud it looks near new after wearing it for over a month. The long nose is the perfect length to help protect his muzzle from the sun and it fits around his head like it was custom made for him. I’ll be recommending the Chahel fly masks to everyone and I’ll be buying another for my gelding as soon as his current one decides it’s ready for retirement.

Update June 2017: Finally needing to order new ones almost a year later. My gelding took his off some where in the pasture and we just can’t find it. And the elastic under the chin on my mare’s is finally shot. Otherwise, very little wear overall on the masks. Considering the abuse these masks took both from these two horses (they’ve spent the last two months trying to take off each other’s masks every morning) and wear from being out in the pasture, these masks did great. I’m ordering the same ones again now.
———————————————————————
It fits my horses well and holds up nicely under normal pasture conditions. I’ve seen some wear on the mask in the last month (2 months of total use) but they are grazing under the trees right now and that tends to shred other masks. I have the long nose version as my horses have wide blazes and tend to get sunburnt easily. They’ve only managed to get it off about once a week which is pretty good for my nudists. With the amount of wear in the last month, I’m expecting to need to buy new ones at the start of next summer but will buy these again as they are the best I’ve found.

I use it on a mule. Fits well. Stays on.
