I’ve bought a few of these for my amazon. She goes through phases of not wanting to chew anything for a while then tears into anything around so it’s important to have something besides furniture for her 🙂 Lots of pieces here with sisal rope for birds to tease apart too…sadly mine ignores the rope entirely. Depending how your bird chews you’ll lose blocks off the main piece before they’re shredded but mine just goes down to pick them up and complete the process. At $20 that I bought this it was a good deal and lasted a few weeks. At $30+ I see it now, well, looks like i’ll be finding other toys for her. If not for the 50% price increase this would be 5 stars.

The XXL size of this toy is the only toy I’ve found that will last my two big macaws more than a few days. These monsters last a month or more and still give the birds hours and hours of chewing fun. They love the varied textures — my greenwing macaw especially loves the sisal rope. The XL size is perfect for my Moluccan cockatoo and my Congo African Grey, although my M2 can go through one of the XL size toys (the $30 size) in less than 2 weeks! (Remember that just means she loves the toy — not that it’s poorly made.)
The pictures I’ve put in this review are what the toys look like after my birds have put them through their paces. The macaw toys (the two larger toys) are what they look like after about a month. The cockatoo toy (the smaller toy) is what the toy looks like after a week and a half.
I’ve purchased both sizes of this toy several times and will continue to purchase regularly. Hopefully they’ll keep both sizes available as it’s very difficult to find extra-large toys for big birds.

My umbrella cockatoo is picky with her toys, especially hanging wood toys, but she loves this one and goes straight to it when I put her to bed in the evenings. I’ve now purchased it twice for her and plan on buying more of these for my little lady.

My African Grey LOVED this toy, although it only lasted one day. He tore into all of the wood creating hundreds of matchsticks from the colored blocks of soft wood. Well made with lots of soft rope knots. Although he loves untying knots, he never got to them because he chewed through the wood and the ropes fell to the bottom of the cage. I may repurpose the little ropes into another toy. The wood is secured off of a sturdy chain, the cage clip is safe and will not injure your bird. Great day of fun for an African Grey. A smaller bird will probably get a lot more days of chewing wood. All in all, a good sized, fun toy, not too expensive – even if your bird destroys it in a day. I will be ordering a couple more for a once a month treat. A very nice product.

This XXL is the ONLY toy I can order for my Catalina macaw that lasts more than a few days. I just wish they could keep up with the demand for that size. I had it on subscribe & save for a bit (so I don’t need to think about ordering another before he’s done), but it goes off if it’s unavailable and the smaller sizes (even the extra-large) isn’t worth getting as it’s 17” smaller and seems to have more of it out of softwood than hardwood (necessary to hold up to a macaws beak). I think they need to concentrate more on the XXL size than the smaller ones that have many other competitors against it, and possibly also make a size in between the XL and the XXL because 21”H to 38”H is a BIG difference!

Mi loro gris esta muy feliz con el juguete y hasta ahora de ha durado mas que los demás juguetes para loro que le he comprado. Al principio le causo un poco de miedo pero ahora lo mantiene entretenido por horas. eventualmente comprare uno nuevo cuando gaste este.

Me encanta este producto por que mi loro lo utiliza muchisimo y le dura. Me gustaria que fuera mas economico y lo compraria mas seguido. Sin lugar a dudas es mejor que el tamaño mediano ya que el mediano se le acaba muy rapido, a pesar de ser un loro pequeño(loro gris del congo). La cadena tiene una argolla enroscable lo cual permite que el loro no pueda tirar el juguete al piso y es mas seguro que las argollas de resorte.
