Okay, it looks a little cheesy with the carrots but it was on sale. But I was glad I got it because it has lasted longer than any other ball cover I’ve tried! I have 2 german Shepherds that LOVE these balls but they were constantly biting through the covers and popping the balls. The first one we got lasted all of about 2 minutes. This one is almost 3 months old. I’m getting ready to order another because I’ve noticed a couple of small holes and I’d rather replace the cover than the ball

This ball is not made for dogs of any breed. It may perform well for horses but not for dogs. The cover material is not suitable for any herding ball. It is made of polyester, the same material used for making clothing. The cover does not protect the ball at all. The ball is simply a yoga ball that does not withstand even moderate play with your dog. This ball lasted 2 days with my Aussiedoodle. She was able to easily puncture the ball. My family has purchased 12 different herding balls, all yielding and same results. Punctured ball, torn covers and malfunctioning zippers. These balls are a money grab by the manufacturers. I have discovered a solution to these poorly manufactured balls. Do your research, find a herding ball that the cover is made of strong materials. The Sheenlulu herding ball is a good example of a strong material cover. Buy 2 of them to double the cover layers. Insert one cover into the second cover. Insert the deflated ball into the inner cover and inflat the ball. I recently executed this plan and the ball has stayed perfectly in tac for 3 weeks and going strong. You may need to add a little air occasionally, but this works. The two cover plan works and will save you money in the long run. My dog loves these balls. She and I both get great exercise and they make her happy. Good luck!

It’s been about a week and the ball isn’t popped and cover not damaged. I don’t let it sit out in the weather and I usually play with my dog while he’s out. He is HIGH ENERGY and gets a little overzealous at times and this burns off some of that energy.
Update…it’s still in one piece after a month or so, though it has a couple of tooth holes and some seams that I’ll need to repair.

Maybe my review will be useful for other people: it’s better to order one size less than your ball. My ball is 40”, and I ordered cover 40” as well, so the cover is too loose.

It is much bigger than the ball. Too easy to get their teeth on and rip. Mine lasted 1hr. I sewed it somewhat and took it in but guess we will see how long it lasts this time

I have tried several of these types of covers. The Velcro ones did not last beyond a week or so with my horses. I was excited to see the zipper on this one thinking it would outlast the Velcro. I was sadly disappointed. My horse broke the zipper within the 1st hour with this toy. It was crunched and the teeth ripped out of the actual zipper rendering it useless and the access hole ripped open. Which, gives him a wonderful “handle” to carry this around the pasture. He did manage to put several holes and tears in the fabric within the first week. Now, the holes and wear and tear are fairly on par with other brands I have tried. Lets face it, we are expecting fabric to put up with massive abuse from 1000 pounds of animal. Not a bad product, but no way could I go 4 or 5 stars when the zipper failed that quickly.

I purchased this ball cover for my large Mastiff Boxer cross fur child.
He adores it. In fact I need another so when one is being washed, he still has one to play with.
Yes, the sizing is a wee bit bigger than the ball ratio but my dog doesn’t mind, so not a problem.
