Update: After reading other reviews, I realized it is operator error. The ball may seem full at about 24”, but keep going. Once the ball reaches about 30”, the cover fits just fine.
Original post: Seems like it would be good but it is far too big for the 30” ball. Label says 30” on front but 40” on back.

Y’all need to let someone other than Helen Keller do your measurements. Pictured is a 30 inch ball with the ” up to 30 inch” cover. There’s a good 6-8 inches of extra fabric. The opening to get the ball in was barely big enough to pass a premie baby through. Low quality, poor quality control.

Horses absolutely love them, but unfortunately, they don’t last mine more than a day, and they’re just too expensive to keep replacing.

My Yearling colt loves this ball and cover. The cover lasted me a year until it ripped at the Velcro seam, which was fine as my colt would usually grab that area to run with it in the pasture. I just ordered another cover for the ball as the ball is still inflated the same since I inflated it a year ago. I ordered a 30” ball and this 30” cover. Helpful hint: after putting cover on deflated ball-you should use an air compressor to fill the ball to it’s full capacity. The cover fits nice and snug, however I deflated my ball just a bit to give my colt the opportunity to grab the cover with his mouth as he loves to run with it and throw it in the air. There are many complaints about this ball but if you inflate the ball to capacity properly with an air compressor after placing your ball in the cover, you should not have any problems.

Cover was too big for ball. Both labeled as correct size for cover/ball. Maybe my cover was miss labeled? It is floppy even when ball inflated to the max. The seam where the Velcro is ripped within on week. Dogs loved it and played only when supervised but it is too pricey for a few days of entertainment! Very disappointed in quality of product and feel like I was sent the wrong product to begin with.

Great fit, strong fabric, and well put together. Fit the Jolly Mega Ball perfectly. The hook & latch closure is strong and tight. However, it’s also the one weakness of this product and the reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5. We use this for our Belgian Malinois and she absolutely loves it. When chasing it, the closure area is the only place she can get a grip on it and will, in a short time, bite through and rip the material. We’re talking minutes here.
My suggestion is to attach a reinforced strap/loop sewn onto either or both ends. That way it can be gripped without getting torn. The life of the cover would go up tremendously.

I’m not sure why this has such high reviews. It says it’s a 30” ball cover but the instructions say to inflate the ball to 40” which is impossible if you have a 30” ball. Very irritated to have wasted my time inflating the ball only to have the cover be way too big.

I was originally concerned about whether the cover would fit since that seemed to be a common complaint. At first the cover did seem huge like it was made for a bigger ball. The ball felt really full. I called horsemans Pride customer service for suggestions. She answered right away and was very nice. She instructed me on measuring the ball to 30″ from the floor and not to worry about how tight it feels. If this didn’t work then she gave me an email to send my info to so that they could help me further.
My ball was measuring under. I used an electric air pump to fill, but couldn’t quite get it to 30″. So I took out the foot pump that comes with the ball. A short while later the ball was full and the cover fit snugly. My colt is so happy. I’m looking forward to seeing how long this lasts.

Horses love it but can share a pic because after one week it blew away in a storm. They did rip it at the seam and I had to see it after two days but by horses are extremely rough on things.

The reason I didn’t rate it higher is because of the opening. I think it’s a pain to have to deflate the ball to put the cover on or take it off. I intend to open up one seam and put velcro all the way along it so that I can just put it on and off the inflated ball.
