No more surprise & forgotten bird poops on my work shirts. I’ve got really broad shoulders & this fits great without pulling weird. Soft, washable, easy to button, stays on even if it isnt. Does what its supposed to. The naughty 1 is quite clever but he thinks I dont see him tryin to sneak his b.hole to the inside of my shirt! Haha lol…not today buddy!

My parrot loves to hang out on your shoulder so this came in clutch incase they have an accident and to protect you of their claws if they’re sharp

This is such a smart idea! I got it for my chickens so I feel my clothes are protected and my skin is safe from their nails!

I have 2 cockatiels who love to be on my or my husband’s shoulders at all times. However, one of them has very watery poop (he’s not sick, he’s been this way for 12 years). It gets really nasty to have him pooping on our shirts. I got this bird shawl in the hopes that the cotton would absorb my bird’s poop instead of it just rolling off. It seems to work. The fabric is tightly woven enough that my birds’ claws don’t get caught in the material. The shawl is large enough for my husband’s very broad shoulders (although I will say he looks a little silly wearing it, since it is clearly designed for a woman). As with everything new we introduce to them, the birds were scared of this shawl at first, but they’re getting used to it now. I haven’t tried washing it yet, so I’m not sure if it will shrink, but even if it does, it will still fit me.

This parrot shawl went from “suspicious foreign object” to “beloved cuddle accessory” in record time—my cockatiel now does a full concert of happy chirps whenever I put it on. The soft cotton fabric keeps us both comfortable: no more claw snags in my shirts, and no more accidental “abstract artwork” down my back. I especially love the mandarin collar that stops him from treating my necklace like a chew toy. It’s long enough to protect my clothes, but short enough so it doesn’t get in my way.
After months of use, it’s held up beautifully through washes (both machine and, ahem, avian). Pro tip: If your bird is skeptical at first, try wearing it during treat time. Now if only they made matching human-sized versions for really messy meals…

The biggest issue with having a bird is not having any clothes free from poop.
This is the perfect solution. It’s easy to put on and remove (I just slip it over my head, I don’t even fuss with the buttons) and it adequately covers your shoulders. It’s soft, thick enough to protect from claws (those things can be sharp sometimes, especially when they’re due for a trim) and not too hot to wear in the summer but still warm enough to keep your shoulders warm when it’s particularly chilly, which is an added bonus. My bird wasn’t afraid of it, which I was worried she would be. It has quickly become an essential, and I love that it has a collar as well, because it helps protect their feathers from our skin oils when they snuggle up to us.
Definitely recommend.

The item I received is exactly what is shown in the photos. However, the description is somewhat inaccurate:
*Dual Chew Toys Included…
*Adjustable for Any Outfit — Quick-release neck clasp…
I would like to point out it is does NOT come with chew toys nor does it have a “quick-release neck clasp”. It only has buttons shown in the photos. With that being said, it works as described. My dusky conure was confused at first, but it took less than thirty seconds for her to hop on. I really think she likes being able to climb up and down my arm, and this cape prevents her from easily doing so. However, I think she’ll get used to it. It definitely helps protecting your clothes from poop! I’m not sure how long the buttons will last though. They aren’t bird proof, especially if you have a larger bird.
