Good quality but too big for adult homing pigeon. I love it but too large. Bird slips out and also since hangs below feet his legs get caught in it. Cute and well made but too big.

I don’t really like reviewing to complain but this feels deceptive. From the photos you can see the product is different to what’s advertised and if it’s handmade I understand and wouldn’t care if it works. Not only is it small which I can make exceptions for it barely fits but with a squeeze. It doesn’t have the latch to attach the hook anywhere. The new adjustable Velcro system is not the best if it’s around a bird that it barely fits on because you need to either have the Velcro attach to one side or pull tight and constrict my pigeons behind. I understand if after revision and adjustment it was changed for the better as previous reviews said it’s too big in the past but now it seems smaller and very different.

It fits nicely and easy to wash and re-use. Only problems i notice is the bow-tie and more importantly the plastic ring on the back that you attach the leash to falls off after only a little while. Thankfully it fell of when my pigeon wasn’t leashed or he would have flew away. if you want to take your pigeon outside it might be better to get one that’s a bit more secure and stronger.

We took in an orphaned pigeon and didn’t want it to be in a cage all the time. Well you can guess what happens if you let a bird fly freely in your home for too long. I suggested to my wife that we try and find a diaper. Walla! This diaper is a bit big for our still growing pigeon-a hair tie helped with this. Rainbow still gets his leg caught sometimes, but usually does ok flying. Maybe it has been mentioned before, but use a disposable panty liner inside for easy clean up.

Why did you pick this product vs others?:
This is a nice pigeon diaper but just a little too big for my pigeon. She’s probably going to grow into it. I just tighten the Velcro to fit snug. Works well with a panty liner and has extra room in the caboose so the poop doesn’t sit on the feathers. Only issue is the feet kept getting caught on the bow when we were training but now she’s used to it so I didn’t remove it. Even came with an elastic leash which is perfect so they don’t yank back when trying to fly.

This is extremely dangerous and unsanitary for your birds, and just a hassle in general! It’s cute and the right size but there’s no poop pouch to catch the droppings so it’ll just sit in your birds bum 😭 not good!!!

Our granddaughter joined FFA this school year and decided to raise pigeons. She needed something to cover its bottom when she takes it to school to keep from making a mess everywhere. The female pigeon actually likes wearing it and struts when she wears it. We cut a feminine pad and place it inside the pants to keep from staining the pants. It was a little expensive, but it comes with a leash as well and as long as the pad is put inside it won’t stain.

I have homing pigeons I love very much. One beautiful one did not have a mate so at times I brought her in and this made it very much worry free. I was hesitant at first to buy this because it looks flimsy in the pictures but it is sewn and it attaches well to a normal sized pigeon. The shoulder straps will go under some feathers but they get used to it fast.
I put panty liners inside and I don’t leave it on for more then 8 hours because the feces will build up against her body any longer then that. Honestly a pigeon overnight tends to sit in one spot so just put a towel under wherever they are perched.
I’m a volunteer firefighter and this pigeon is now the company mascot and everyone thinks a pigeon on a leash is just the coolest thing.
And I didn’t even need to train the pigeon to be held or go into the leash, you have to be confident catching and holding the pigeon so they do not get hurt.
After she (a barely handled but used to us feeding her pigeon) was on the leash I could perch her on my hand, hold her up against my body for hours, walk her down the street.
This is worth the try but I wouldn’t fly my pigeon like a kite for any more then a few seconds because I would be devastated to lose her. I do however walk her.

These pants are so cute I love them! They were a bit big and had a weird chemical smell, so I ran them through the wash which helped shrink them down to the perfect size. My pigeon is a 700g male, and they were even too big for him upon arrival but after being washed they are perfect. 🙂
