Over a couple years I have tried literally all of the pine tars and pine tar soaps available on Amazon. That being said the best soap was the Healthy Porcupine and the best tar was the Auson kiln tar. For soap making this Bickmore pine tar is a perfect mix of affordability, workability, and scent. It does not have the smoky pine scent like the Auson tar which is 4x the price. Unlike the other cheaper tars Bickmore does smell like pine. The other cheaper tars tend to smell like asphalt or turpentine. The 25% tar soap I make with Bickmore I compare directly to Packer’s pine tar soap scent wise.

I actually purchased this for my duck’s bumble foot. I was able to get a better value for my money buying here than in my local feed store. The size of the can is nice and easy to store, it is also very durable. The pine tar itself is thick, sticky, and has a strong smell. The smell did not bother me and the tickness, and stickiness were good to stick to the ducks foot. It is highly functionable, it worked well and helped draw out the infection in my duck.

Would recommend to people who need pine tar.
Only thing I would have done differently would have been to check the local farm and garden store before buying. Even in my small town they had it for a lower price.

I use this item for soap.Making.The effectiveness is great.It’s a little on the high side for value for money.It looks much bigger in the picture.But is very sticky, and a little bit goes a long way.One of the better brands out there?The only reason i’m not giving a higher rating is because you do not get a lot for how much you pay.But definitely recommend it

I thinned this with oil and turpentine and used it as a stain for some outdoor wood. Worked great, and still going strong 2+ years later in the elements.
