If you’ve ever watched your horse throw a head-tossing tantrum because a fly dared enter their airspace, you know a good fly mask is worth its weight in gold. This one may not be made of gold, but it’s definitely a solid budget-friendly option that works.
I’ve got a 14.5-hand(ish) BLM Mustang, and the large size fit him just fine. The ear covers are a bit roomy—he looked mildly offended the first time he wore it—but they stayed in place during turnout and didn’t cause any rubbing or drama. The mesh is breathable and does a decent job blocking UV, which is important on those scorchers when the flies seem to have multiplied overnight.
Is it stitched like a $50 brand-name mask? No. But the Velcro holds, the mesh hasn’t frayed, and most importantly, my horse no longer looks like he’s auditioning for a role in “Fly Wars: Return of the Buzz.”
I put it on in the morning and usually remove it when the sun goes down to let him breathe a little—he seems to appreciate the routine. Overall, it’s a great pick for everyday horse owners who want their horse to be comfortable without having to sell a kidney.
Would I buy it again? Yup. And my horse would probably give it 4 out of 5 neighs.

These are a great alternative to the more expensive branded fly masks. They run a little large. While they are durable, fly masks just don’t last very long on my horses, so I love having a more affordable option.
Like I said, the fit is a little bit bigger, the Velcro is good quality, and they take a beating. They stand up well to machine washing. I have ordered these numerous times and will continue purchasing them in the future.

I really liked this type of fly mask. It stays put on the face. It also does well with breathability, the temps have hit the nineties, and helping shade the eyes. I have an all black horse so I always worry about my horse getting to hot. So far I do not need to worry about this. My horse got the mask all dirty. I threw it in the washer and hung it dry and it maintained very well. I feel this is the best mask to wash.
Fit:
It fit my horse very well and he has a big head. I like that it fits a little snug to keep the mask in place.
Ease of use:
It is so easy to put on and off. I like that the ear covers are large to fit bigger horses.

Closest thing to a quality Cashel for half the price!! 10/10 and would order again. I ordered a size large for my 16.2 QH and a size medium for my TWH and both fit perfectly.
Easy to use, durable, and functional.
I will say I had first ordered a med & large and received two larges and customer service was great, I received my medium quickly!

Well made and super nice. I bought it for my Clydesdale draft horse but it is too small. I would say it would work for smaller drafts or warmbloods. He is 18.2 and we had to add Velcro to make it work. Otherwise it’s nice and works well.
