David Turner –
This bird carrier has worked well for my two Indian Ringneck parrots. The stainless steel mesh feels solid and secure, and I like that they cannot chew through it. The airflow is very good, so they stay comfortable during travel.
The built in seat belt strap is a big plus since it keeps the carrier steady in the car. That gave me extra peace of mind while driving. Cleaning is also simple because the bottom tray slides out without having to remove the perch or disturb the birds.
The size is just right for small to medium parrots, and the extra height gives them room to hop and move around. Both of my birds adjusted quickly and seemed relaxed inside.
Overall this carrier feels safe, sturdy, and convenient for travel. For the price, it’s a very good option if you want something reliable that keeps your birds secure in the car.
W Family –
I like that this backpack is big enough for almost any type of bird. We tried using it with a cockatiel, quaker parrot and parrotlets. They all looked happy when traveling. It’s easy to change food and to fold up and down the sides so that the bird has enough light and to look around. The metal grated bottom keeps the bird from walking on their own waste, and helps give the bag a more rigid structure. I like that this bag has more zippered access points than the smaller version of the same product, which only has one small access window. Overall I would recommend this item for a small bird.
Starlight Dragonfly –
I got this for my Quaker. She is VERY shy, but also VERY attached to me, so I thought taking her out with me might help build her confidence a bit. It took a few tries to get her used to it, but once she figured out it meant she could stay with me, she started to get in on her own when I put her near it. It’s easy to clean thanks to the tray – I add pine pellets to the bottom when we go out because they stay put a little better than shavings, or just a doubled up paper towel, depending on how long we will be out. She can have snacks and water with the little cups. I did wrap the perch in vet wrap to help make it easier for her to maintain her balance/grip, but aside from that, it was perfect straight out of the box. I haven’t had issues with ventilation while we are out, but we have not used it in the dead-heat of Summer (and likely wouldn’t just because it’s too hot in general). Overall, both me and my feathered girl just love it!
