I purchased this playpen for my senior dog to keep her from wandering at home. She was a 15-year-old Shiba Inu on the smaller side, and this worked well for her needs.
Durability: The sides could hold her weight up when she leaned against them, which was important since she wasn’t very stable on her feet.
Storage & portability: I liked that it came with a case for storage and folded flat, so it didn’t take up much space in my small apartment when not in use.
Bottom surface: The bottom was slippery, so I had to line it with towels and mats for when she fell down, as she wasn’t able to stand on her own. If you’re using this for a senior dog or puppy, plan on adding non-slip padding.
Design features: The zippered door and top zippered lid were good to have. I would roll up the side door just in case she wanted to get out, and I always left the top open so I could easily get in there with her to watch her.
Indoor use only: I only used it indoors, so I’m not sure how it would fare outside in different weather conditions.
Initial smell: It came with a plastic smell, so I had to air it out for a day or two before using it.
Bottom line: This would probably be good for small puppies, too. It’s functional and portable, just be prepared to add your own non-slip padding for safety.

I bought this playpen for 2 tiny kittens we’re fostering and it is working out so perfectly.
I bought the small size and it’s compact but still spacious inside.
There’s a top zipper tht opens all the way and a side zippered doorway tht folds up and velcro to stay open.
The kittens love to play in the doorway when they’re not off exploring.
I have towels and a blanket plus a small litter box inside.
I’m very pleased with this product! The price, quality, and design are exceptional.
I also love that it sits low and doesn’t dominate my living room and it’s aesthetically pleasing.

I love this playpen. Unfortunately its too small for my two cats. I bought it to travel but this size will not accommodate the cats plus a litter box. I’m going to return it for a larger size. The good news is its easy to set up and take down. Very portable. Well made. This would work for a single small cat or kitten.

This playpen was great in the beginning and my puppy liked it a lot.
It was easy to set up and worked well for indoor use.
After some time, my puppy managed to break the zip, which was disappointing.
The material itself is okay, but the zipper could be stronger.
Overall, it’s useful at first, but I wouldn’t recommend it for very active puppies.

Medium was the perfect size for my 15lb dachshund. Set up in a hotel room, there was plenty of room for the food/water bowls and space to move around. It folds flat easily and has a carrying pouch w handles that it slides into. The best features are that the top opens like a sun roof so plenty of fresh air can get it. The zipper has a lock clasp in case you have an escape artist. I have another one I’ve been using for years and this is definitely an upgrade.

Maybe your mini dachshund doesn’t do this but mine headbutts the top and pops the zipper off the track to get out. He’s very determined to get out when it’s his nap time. He has also chewed the sides of the thin material and managed to poke a hole. Granted for the price this little portable kennel was only temporary but temporary shouldn’t be a hassle either. I will say it is sturdy enough for my chihuahua who is no more than 6 lbs can sit in there nicely. It’s very spacious and able to fit a small bed in there and some toys.

I bought this to keep a new kitten in while he became acquainted with the house. I also used it after having another cat spayed because it worked so well with the kitten. I did find that it was easy for my cats outside of the pen to crumple it but it never folded all the way. Despite my cats’ best attempts to scratch free it held up and was very durable. There was plenty of room for cat, their bed, litter box, and food/water. Very lightweight and easy for me to move, unlike the dog kennels I was using before.
