One of the best purchases I’ve made for our fur baby, it’s so cute! His litter box and feeder are both in the laundry room and we don’t like to leave the door open bc the washer/dryer can be noisy. Also keeps the dog out, which I’m sure the cat appreciates!

I’m reviewing this before my cat has actually used this – but so far so good! I did what others said they did and used a jabsaw and just hacked away at my door. It wasn’t easy or fun, but it meant I didn’t have to buy anything expensive ($11 for a decent jabsaw) and I did get this entirely installed within a half hour. It’s perfect for allowing my cat but not my dogs into the basement so he can use his litter box.
The quality of the piece itself is fine for its purpose. I do not recommend following the template exactly. You can tell from the photos that I really couldn’t do so with the jabsaw. I outlined the template itself and just cut the hole just a smidge smaller. It would’ve made the most sense to just trace around the thing itself but I did not for fear of cutting it too close.
It would be great if the company would update their template and print it out on something other than standard printer paper – it’s basically useless trying to trace out the template with thin printer paper. I get that it cuts margins but it’s kind of an expensive product for what it is so I think that’s really the least they could do.
But ultimately the product was super easy to install otherwise. I’ll update after it gets some use but for now the adhesive strips are holding great and the do seem adequate.
UPDATE: We’ve been using this for a month or so now and honestly its great! I love the look of it and our cat uses it just fine. The smaller pup we have doesn’t squeeze through either thank goodness so no issues at all! Recommend this product for cat owners!
UPDATE 2: Yeah so the other reviews are 100% right – the adhesive strips do not and will not hold up over time. Do not recommend relying on them to last which is disappointing since this item is a bit pricey for what it is. I’m now using command strips to hold this in place. It’s not an unsolvable problem but once again, it is annoying considering the price of this item.

I ordered the 9×12 cat door and I’m so glad I did. I was worried my cat would be too big but it’s perfect. I would say most cats I’ve seen would most likely fit through that size. It helps keep the litter box safe from my toddler and the cat food safe from the dogs! Installation is easy enough if you have a jig saw. I put painters tape under my cut line because I was worried it might splinter the wood. Even if it did, the frame of the cat door would cover up any imperfections.

Perfect for interior doors and looks really cute. Great if you want to close a room off for better heating or cooling with an air-conditioner. Love being able to close the laundry door but my cat can still access the room for the litter box. Instructions were clear, the only effort is cutting the hole in the doors.

Since my dog enjoys getting into the cat feeder and litter box a lot, I figured I would try getting a cat door. I used a jigsaw to cut out the outlines used from the provided template, and everything came together quite smoothly! Now my cat gets plenty of private space. The design is sleek and unobtrusive, allowing it to blend in well with your interior. The opening is large enough for most cats (my cat is 11lbs, so he is considered a bigger cat to my vets) and the smooth, rounded edges ensure that your pet can pass through comfortably without any risk of injury. Another plus to this is that there is no need for swinging doors. My girlfriend and I grew up with doggy doors that swung back and forth when used, and was quite obnoxious and repetitive, but with this product, there’s no noise! Overall, I think that this product is a good option for those looking to discreetly manage their cat’s essentials!

Remove door (I unscrewed the hinge)
Mark the center of the door
Draw around the template
Cut around the drawn template using a jigsaw. (has loads of leeway since the frame is quite thick)
Bolt bolt the two halves together.
Overal took around 20 minutes.
Looks good once installed as well – my two cats have had no issues with it
