nutrition and the proper lighting and water temperature are all important when raising turtles .. calcium and the right amount of lighting uva and uvb are needed to manifest the calcium in their diet.. these supplemental nutrition calcium blocks also have pieces of pellet food inside .. it makes it something fun for them to eat when they need a snack .. I feed my turtles in a separate tank . this is something I leave in where they can have bites of it and it wont clog up the filter or cause the water to become yucky or cloudy . they usually eat this when they have not eaten enough during feeding time or they want an extra snack … I recommend .. for two small turtles I have only one block .. the snapping turtles have to eat underwater or they can’t swallow the food so it has to sit under the water somewhere.

My turtle snapped and attacked this a couple of times but other than this it dissolved and disappeared. Don’t think he enjoyed this too much.

We left our yellow bellied slider with this over a long weekend, and when we returned, it had dissolved somewhat and we could tell that he had been nibbling on it. Left it in the tank, where it slowly dissovled over the next week. I would purchase again.

Was using this food block to feed my big turtle while I was away for two weeks. Came back and it was all gone. So this product did what it was suppose to do.

I have a baby Red Ear Slider (RES) turtle and needed this feeder while I was away for 3 days. She has a 10 gallon aquarium that I keep full of water. I was afraid this feeder would leave her tank murky and it did not! The block stayed intact and when I removed it, it was not mushy or falling apart. I am not sure if I could have kept it for future trips, I threw it out, but I highly recommend this feeder. My baby RES could have went a month without me being home with just this one block.

They literally love this block I can’t believe it!!! My two turtles ones a northern map turtle the other ones a yellow-bellied both really picky eaters won’t eat pellets I have a hard time feeding them anything but fresh shrimp and freeze-dried shrimp. It did take them a minute to find it but once they did they haven’t left it highly highly recommend for picky eating turtles I buy things constantly to try different things for them to eat!
