The suction cups should be much larger in diameter for more suction power. Sure, they are an item that wears out over time, but I changed to a whole new set yeaterday, cleaned the aquarium wall very well, and this morning one of the cups was loose already. I would recommend an aluminum or stainless steel hanging strap system, or else much larger suction cups made out of some material that resists the effects of heated water, UV light, and whatever chemicals are in city and turtle water. It is a real bummer to reach in and press these against the wall again, then have to go wash up good because of the hazard of salmonella or whatever is in water a turtle lives in, then have to do it all over again two hours later because the cups do not stick well, not even when new.

Love these!

Great product. Love these. Will buy more again. Thank you.

These didn’t to even last a month. They don’t suction and fold out so they can’t even stick to anything.

Far too many things in fish and turtle industry depend on suction cups, including heaters, turtle docks, thermometers and more. While suction cups really are great inventions allowing you to stick stuff to smooth surfaces, you can depend on them not lasting. I’ve tried cleaning them and soaking in vinegar, but in the end, you more often than not need to replace them. While there are a few manufacturers who make suction cups that last under water a long time, they are truly a very small minority. These are good replacements and I suggest just replacing when they no longer hold the vacuum they need in order to stick.

They do not stick. Tank is clean and it should be able to press on fine. They come off within a few seconds. They are also hard to put on the poles for the Zoodock. I would buy another brand of suction cups.

This is a much needed item because Shelly the turtle gets upset when his dock floats away. The Suction cups need to be changed periodically because they live in a harsh environment. They are either submerged or getting attacked by UVA &B from the basking lamps so they do wear out over time. The silicone cups absorbs water after along time and eventually lose ability to stick to the tank wall. After they get dried out they can be used again but eventually they stop working and need replacement. One day the dock will need replacement too. Turtles live for many years. You will need some of these to keep your pet turtle happy.

If you have this dock (plan on buying it), keep a supply of these around; your turtle will thank you.
Like all suction cups in a tank environment, they eventually stop sticking. Glad they make replacements readily available!
Some complain about how hard they are to put on, the trick is to insert at an angle. There is a flat side on each dock post that keeps the suction cups on, that is why you can’t easily just push them on straight down.
