I bought this gate to keep our puppy from going downstairs while also giving our cat a puppy free space. I love the small pet door. Our huge cat fits through the door on the second largest setting and the puppy doesn’t fit, so the cat can be safe but also free. The installation was a breeze. I love that it’s *actually* pressure mounted – no holes in the walls at all. And the fit is tight. Love that the door swings both ways making it easy to walk through going up or down the stairs. Solid quality. I’m super impressed.

I have purchased several of these types of gates over the years for pets. This is one of the best gates I have ever had – very good quality, sturdy, easy to open and close. It also has the function of staying open when pushed past a certain point and it ACTUALLY stays open. Really nice feature. The adjustable cat door is nice, but be aware that it does rattle. With that in mind, your cat WILL rattle that bad boy when their food dish is empty. At 2 AM. Just sayin’.
It installs very easily and sits securely in the doorway and really doesn’t budge once it’s in place. I have bumped into it several times and it hasn’t moved.
The only potential issue is that this is a “tall” gate which means it is roughly as high as your average doorknob. I have a gate on a door with a regular “ball” type knob and one on a door with a handle-type knob and both hit the top of the gate, preventing you from being able to close the door fully. Additionally, the part of the gate that impacts the doorknob is the stationary side piece, so even having the gate open will not allow you to fully close the door.
Not a terrible issue, but one to be aware of. I have had the shorter, “regular” height gates and they end just underneath the knob and you can close the door. Just an FYI.
Overall, a very nice quality gate that works well.

Works like it should, and simple to construct /assemble. I love that we can adjust the size of the small opening….we wanted our cat to be able to go thru BUT wanted to make sure our 20lb sheltie could not. This thing is SOLID. Opening is no issue at all. The only reason I took off a star is because of the bottom threshold (see my photos)- when the gate is open, you still need to step over it, which could make it a tripping hazard for some, so keep that in mind when you’re selecting what gate will best suit your household. The swing angle is wide, and when you open it all the way, it will stay open on its own. The magnetic pull makes it simple to close. It’s a bit pricy compared to the traditional type baby gate you can find at Walmart /Target etc, but it’s worth the splurge if aesthetics are important. I would purchase again if I needed another. Definitely recommend.

We purchased this to keep our puppy out of the living room at night, but still had to have availability for the cat to get to its food and litter box. My wife said she saw baby gates with pet doors in them so I googled it and these came up. It’s exactly what we were looking for to be able to let the cat through but not the dog. Seems pretty sturdy and well made but I’ve only had it for a day. If you buy it and get it all together and realize you can’t open the gate which is what I did, then I realized you have to actually pick up on the gate to open it. I’m sure that’s a safety feature. It’s also Auto closing.

Overall it’s a good baby gate! Easy to put together. I like that you can swing it both ways. The only downfall is how the cat door can be dropped down quite easily, it wouldn’t be hard for our baby to press the release button. We ended up putting a ziptie to ensure that the cat door can’t fall and squish her fingers (if she does manage to get the button).

A bit of a flimsy product. It’s hard to open and close, not a smooth mechanism at all. Overall does the job which is keeping the baby out while allowing the cat to enter.

This gate is perfect! I bought it to manage my pets. It was a bit costly for me so I felt I was taking a chance buying it, but no regrets! My main reason for purchasing was that I was worried about falling over the cheaper plastic suction straight gate I had been using to keep my dogs out of the bedroom during the day while allowing my cats to go in. I had some trips stepping over it that came close to injury. Also every night I would have to undo the suction gate to allow dogs in my room which wasn’t so convenient. The great features of my new Babelio gate I list below which may help others decide:
1. Gate can be put up either way that suits you if you are putting in a doorframe and have a door and hinges to worry about (i.e putting up with gate opening near right side of doorframe which is what I did, or put so opens on left side)
2. Gate is low enough that it should not interfere with a doorknob if putting in a door frame (I bought the 30 inch high, no problems at all)
3. Gate should fit inside of doorframe as the ends are small enough. Doorframes usually have basically 2 sides…1 side is where a door and hinges are and other side is clear. That’s where I put my gate, it fit perfectly right in that area I had and if I want to close my bedroom door, I still can
4. I did not have to screw anything into doorframe…the sides come out enough to fit tight enough and puts the gate in place and it is sturdy. I put it up by myself, I’m not the most handy person but I had no help and it was easy enough to manage
5. The cat door inside gate is pull up and so far stays up very sturdy. The pull up door is such a great feature! Most gates have a swing cat door which I figured could get in the way at some point and close shut or become problem depending on which way full gate opens
6. Cat door can be left all the way up…I have multiple cats, some 16 pounds and they fit through fine. My dogs are labs and are large and I have no concerns with them trying to get through
7. The main gate swings either way as needed which is wonderful! I usually swing outward from my bedroom but if my dogs happen to be laying in hall in front of gate, I can swing in. Same when on the other side of gate, swing in or out as desired
8. If I am going to come right back to room, can open gate all the way and it stays open or of course can just also lightly set it against closure so doesnt latch
9. Gate latch do need to get used but I believe most gates work like this. Have to squeeze and pull up and then push in or out whichever whichever way choosing to. Easy enough to get used to
All in all, I am so happy with my purchase! No more worrying I’ll hurt myself climbing over the old suction wooden gate…which I had tripped on multiple times.
